Well maybe the word "great" can be dropped, I added it to make the question more black&white. For the word "without": I mean to ask if it is possible/works well to just make wireframes (gray and white blocks) to design and explain the interaction of a digital artifact (website, application, etc). Leaving any visual design for a visual designer to go wild on. Hope that clears the question.
