There does happen to be a link on the homepage that was missed.
Upon analysis with the lovely Jay Jay, it seems this user's thoughts
went as such:
Using a smaller laptop, so link is quite below the fold.
Clicked down to get to events tab, and bypassed seeing the link
because my brain assumed it was an ad: that's where all ads are, on
the right in boxes.
Additionally, I was looking for: 'IX 10' or 'IxD 10' - not the full
word 'Interaction', so the 'ad' didn't catch my eye.
Point being, of course, is that the user (myself) tried to find the
data in search, and on site (general) and (specific page.)
Only one of those three options actually had the information, which
was not seen.
We need to, as we do in our work, give the user as many options as
possible to find what they are looking for - this is why libraries
cross-catalog.
This also may show the importance of SEO, eh?
Remember, I googled for it first....
An event page should always pop up within the first five hits, no?

I just now had a conversation with a colleague and wanted to give them
the URL of IxD10.
This is what happened:
I googled: 'UX10'.
My bad. Doh. So I tried: 'IX10'
No go. I try: 'IxD10'
OK, I give up and go to the IxDA website. I look around front page for
information.
De nada. So I click on Events.
STILL. CAN'T. FIND. INFORMATION. Or URL to send to colleague.
Decide I may not go to conference after all.
Truly, truly sad.
