Don't forget that NFS is designed for filesystems to be shared amongst multiple clients, while iSCSI assumes a single client per filesystem unless you have some kind of out-of-band locking protocol between the clients.\
That fact alone makes iSCSI irrelevant for many applications, no matter what the speed.
