Sorry Branodn, rackow is correct. If you want to sell an app for the iPhone you *have* to go through the App Store. There is no other option for you. What you're referring to is only true for content available through an app, i.e. books, software extensions, etc. Those can be sold through other channels as long as they are also available through an in-app purchase. I have no problem with the latter but do not like how Apple is restricting app deployment itself.
