Continuing education is necessary for any profession (some require it....)

Hmmm....though I suppose its right.

I worked for startup-ish out of college....though all the other Engineers had
Ph.D's, and I didn't.... That last for 7.5 years. During that time I got no
support in continuing education....

While I was looking for work, I got a lot inquires about whether I'd want to
work as a systems administrator...but I wanted to do software, and eventually I
found one.

Then I worked an established company....as a Software Engineer. Also didn't get
much in the way of continuing education (though I started seeking it out more
on my own)..... That last for 7.5 years.

After that...it took a while to find a job. It was during this where I pretty
much decided to look at system administration jobs.

Apparently there's just not much demand for C/Unix software engineers anymore.

My regret was probably not jumping onto the Object Oriented programming fad
when I was finishing college....

Though FORTRAN is forever, but apparently not for me.....

But, we should all become Jedi's....
