While I'm not a huge fan of Dell I really would like to support
them when they
actually do good things but this is a head-scratcher.
What's really fun is that you don't even have the option of choosing
the cheapest possible version of windows because the system comes with
4G of RAM and the cheapest version of Windows 7 only supports 2G. So
they're charging you *MORE* MS tax for an OS you'll never use, just
because you want a system with >2G of RAM.
I would guess that Dell would lose some hefty discount from Microsoft if
they shipped laptops without the OS on them.
