I would have liked more information on the DDF sessions on Wednesday so I could
plan to attend the ones that I had input on but I suspect most of the DDFs
didn’t miss the people from the summit ☺.

My vote is keep the overlap, advertise the DDF sessions better and look more
closely at what is scheduled in the Summit to limit the impact on the DDF day
1activities.

I would keep the DDF days together so make them Thursday/Friday (with some
overlap on Wednesday).
Or some such thing... but not Tuesday and Friday that would be difficult.

Based on Sam's & Chris/Jamie feedback - perhaps we should have:

Monday: learn - tutorials
Tuesday: get things done - DDF day 1
Wednesday: summit day 1
Thursday: summit day 2
Friday morning: tie up loose ends - DDF day 2, any meetings or special
discussion sessions (may be TSC or board)

From a pure DDF point of view and wanting to get stuff done... The tutorials
are a great way to share information that was prepared and the DDF sessions
were useful to get people talking and working. Everything else in the middle
was a distraction. Yes, it is nice to attend other sessions and hit booths, but
I spent most of my time in unconference sessions and couldn't even get around
to look at other stuff.
It does seem like we need more days in there. Overlapping with other
events/projects was also distracting based on the compressed time. I was
interested in the other events but had no time to join them.

Also when things overlap on a schedule it makes it difficult to get all
interested parties together. Many of us cross projects and it was very
difficult to make DDF work over a day and a half with the unconference board
fully stacked. You want a schedule so others can attend, but then you end up
with overlap. So you end up with side discussions when you can get involved
parties together, but then you lose out on getting other community members
involved.

At the last TSC meeting, we spent a lot of time going over what we liked and
didn't like about how the summit was structured. See bullet 2 here:

Some of the ideas/concerns were:
* In the past, nobody stayed for Friday
* We can't have community volunteers run tutorials on Sunday, so they have to
be on Monday
* That forces us into a 3-day event, which is *really* compressed if it's a
Summit and DDF
* OpenStack apparently had the problem with people leaving on Friday, but that
got better over time
* In the future, we're likely to co-locate the summit with some other
projects/events to cut down on conference fatigue and try to get more
cross-pollination
Feel free to chime in here with ideas, suggestions, tomatoes, etc.
Cheers,
