There's no way we *cannot* do electrical renos.

To say it again, we could still do the big electrical renovations without committing our reserves and operational revenues to it.

If members held a campaign over several months where we get earmarked donations and also tried to nail a grant it could still happen. (it would be the same budget I just posted with this extra income just described and an equal amount of reno spending on the expense side + higher electrical usage due to more capacity being online )

(tip: grant funders like it when other monies are also put on the table so they feel their assistence has a leverage value tip #2: http://www.assiniboine.mb.ca/My-Community/Sponsorships---Grants/About-Sustainable-Community-Gr.aspx

)

But, if you are saying we *must* do electrical renovations even without significant donations and/or a grant then you're saying we have to use some combination of:
 * diping into our reserves (currently at 3 months rent + ~$1200)
and
 * using operating revenue to pay a loan.

And if that's where you stand then tell us where your preference lies -- do you want us to make some kind of structural change to boost membership revenues (to come into effect post renovations) or should Skullspace just pay for everything using our current reserves and revenues and forgoe the security of having a discretionary budget?

Or, despite what you've said are you actually in favour of the SnikneJ plan in the interium -- that is you agree that the renos *must* be largly funded by grants and donations which would have to happen first (which could take awhile) and that the renovations can not *at this time once we sign the new lease* be funded by our reserves and operational revenue paying down a loan.
