It's a bit of a fallacy to outline a couple options and tell everyone those
are the only things we can do.
We can focus on gaining money in other ways, like by encouraging donations
for classes we throw and by hosting paid functions.

Hopefully we're close to making a decision on the big issues now so we
can see if the lighting should be done on its own or part of a bigger
package.
In terms of questions and order of questions put to a vote, I see two
major variants:
Process #A
1) Do the members support the new lease being signed?
2) If yes on 1), do the members support funding immediate electrical
renovations using our reserves + operating revenues to pay back a loan
3) If yes on 2), do the members support restructuring what our member
fees and member responsibilities are upon the completion of those
renovations? (assuming renovation loan will be paid back around $350 a
month which would soak up our discretionary budget)
Process #B
We put all four major options to some kind of preference voting system.
I suspect most folks will prefer process A over B because its simpler.
But I'd like to express my preference for B because I would not like to
go through process A and have the last question lead to the result 1-Y
2-Y 3-N as I prefer 1-N over that. At the same time, I'm okay with 1-Y
2-Y 3-Y (Jenkins plan) and 1-Y 2-N (SnikneJ). Process A has a bias
against my preferences. :(
(and every process has a bias against somebody's preferences, and no
process guarantees a majority happy with the outcom)
Once we go through a process that addresses these questions then we'll
know if major electrical renovations are happening soon or not. If
they're not happening soon, then I'd be all for us hiring an electrician
to just replace the fixtures or perhaps allow the internal option to go
foward.
