Squeezecenter is actually running from a computer in another room (where the router is). The laptop isn't really part of the equation, but it seems unaffected connectivity-wise regardless.
Yesterday I unplugged the DAC/power supply entirely from my system -- AC power, RCA, digital coax, everything -- but the SB still had trouble connecting. However, once I unplugged the power on the Squeezebox and plugged it back in, it started working again.
