Must be some OCD regarding collecting/downloading :-)

I have 1785 albums 22500 tracks, I have heard 99% of it, I'm in my 40's
.
I have managed to buy the same CD twice ?

200000 tracks ! if you eat and sleep and have a day job and some social
obligations friends family etc. No way you can listen to it in a
lifetime.

On the topic, if one get performance problems on a powerful windows
machine I would look closer at the server log and investigate if my AV
software or similar is messing with it as sugested earlier in the
tread.
Search the server.log for messages regarding *.MYD or *.MYI files .

I would also keep the collection on internal drives, not accessed from
nas boxes on my network, that would be somewhat sluggish in
performance.

My tiny collection, works splendidly on a tiny fanless 1,2Ghz server,
but then again maybe something happens beyond the >100000 track mark
