The Controller and iPeng both respond well and quickly during normal
use. The only real delays are when large lists must be created that are
not cached lists. I usually do those sort of things through the WebUI
and use iPeng mainly for control and adjustments.

For large collections it is my opinion that a dedicated server with a
Linux operation system is the way to go. Linux seems to have a huge
performance advantage. From my experience an NAS is to be avoided with
large libraries. I had a ReadyNAS NV+ and a Thecus N5200Pro both of
which could not hack the size of my collection. Switching to a PC with
Six 1TB drives built to handle just SBS and a large CD collection
running Ubuntu Linux did the trick.
