I bought a smartq v5 a couple of years ago - runs a linux and Android. I was really impressed - especially with Radiotime (aka Tunein).
Then, I foolishly and unwaringly left it plugged in on the mains (to save battery use) ... and after 2 days the battery slowly exploded. A replacement is a real pain - so I cut out the ballooned battery and just run it via the mains - but that sort of defeats the purpose of a semi-mobile device. So, beware cheap units where you can't change the battery easily.
