As a lark, I took the HDMI output from my tablet's docking station (ViewSonic G-Tablet 10" POS) and feed that through this device: 4X1 HDMI 1.3b Certified Switcher w/ Toslink & Digital Coaxial Port (Rev.2) w/ 3D support (http://www.monoprice.com/products/product.asp?c_id=101&cp_id=10110&cs_id=1011002&p_id=5557&seq=1&format=2), $US44 and coupled that with SqueezePlayer App (http://www.appbrain.com/app/squeeze-player/de.bluegaspode.squeezeplayer), $US5 and took the TOSLink Optical out to my AVR receiver and I was able to get a decent sound to the receiver. Essentially a very expensive and large Squeeze Touch. Works in a pinch, nice to have at a party (I am using SqueezeCommander to control it) although I like having my dedicated wifi remote.
This was my solution since the USB sound card was not supported.
