Yes, it got a lot better. I was a beta tester and it was virtually unusable for the first year or so (fair enough, it was a beta after all). It slowly improved to the point where now it works reasonably reliably, but even when everything works perfectly I still can't bear the amount of time it takes to wake the thing up and navigate through the interface.
