Haha, it appears at the ripe old age of 29 I'm now an old fart -- "give me back my VFDs!!" :). I guess I'm outvoted so far.
I actually think the SB3's have, and will, age better than the LCD-based players. The LCD-based stuff looks like many other plasticky computer gizmos and is already starting to look a little old (relatively small, low-res screens) whereas the SB3's have the metal accents and the displays make them look more like stereo equipment and thus a little more timeless, IMHO. Now, if we're talking slimp3 thru SB2, then yes, I agree those look rather old (they weren't especially good-looking even when new!).
