Personally, I think the retina display's resolution is just unnecessary. But as things are people always want more no matter if they need it. Same as we are still seeing with meegapixels in digital cameras. Unfortunately lower res images will look much worse on iPad3 than they did on iPad 1/2. What resolution of cover art will you use in the future?
800*800 1600*1600?
