Seems the content has drifted slightly off topic on this thread, but as it has I'll respond. A lot of DSD-players are "outputting" PCM datastreams from DSD data, but only internally in the player. The DSD fad, 10 years after it's initial failure due to poor management by Sony, seems to be all the hype atm, driven by a need for differentiation by the up market audio companies, and money to be made. There's hardware available that takes advantage of this and outputs up to 6 channels of digital PCM audio. This one is for the Oppo players: http://audiopraise.com/vanity93/overview.php. The problem as far as I understand is to get these six PCM streams into the computer for ripping without buying expensive pro audio gear that requires a lot of active management in front of a PC screen. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Gadgety1's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=33223 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=97881 _______________________________________________ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
