This conversation is relevant. You are just making generalizations without thinking things thru or researching them. Your kind of thinking is what limited the Touch and Transport to 96k and the Sonos to 44.1k. Your building a product here and you should IMO be pushing the envelope to attract as many people as possible. This product needs to support at least 384k to allow support for DSD128 via DoP. You need to support this not because you personally need it, not because of the "up market audio companies", not because of popularity, not because of available content, but because you can. BTW I have a running poll over on CA and so far 96.43% have voted that they want DSD support with there next purchase. Currently there are 45 products (up from 4-5 in just about year) in the market that support DSD. These products range from well priced to very expensive. Just about every computer audio player worth talking about supports high sample rates and DSD. There are a bunch of download sites that support hi-res and DSD downloads. The way to get native DSD files from SACD is to rip them via a modified PS3.
