The primary router is the DHCP server so the PC running media server will automatically have the correct gateway address. I did an IPCONFIG check and confirmed this.
The only minor thing I noticed was that on the primary router status page it showed the iPAD as a Wireless device when connected to the primary router but a LAN device when connected to the secondary router. I did think it was a routing issue but the fact that my laptop can access the media server remote page connecting to the primary router, but the iPAD can't seems to suggest it is an iPAD issue.
