yes, if you have lossy and flac versions of same albums/songs and the
tags are the same, you'll have duplicates in your LMS library. If I was
going to do this, I'd either change the album titles for the lossy extra
copies (e.g., Revolver (mp3)) or I'd change the genre (and for all the
kids stuff I'd put their name or something in genre (Kid Pop, Kid Rock,
Kid Hip Hop).  Something so that at least you have an indication with
the duplicates as to which are the ones YOU want.  All this said, it
seems to me you have the perfect situation for the multilibrary LMS
plugin. Setup the kids players to use their library and yours to use
your library.  This way you'll avoid duplicates, even if you copy some
of your files over to their library.  And when they move away from home,
you can just delete their library!  ;-)
