You can buy a S/H O2 Joggler on Ebay for about £40.
You can run SqueezePlayOS from a USB Stick attached to the Joggler or
reflash it with the full SqueezePlayOS - details here

As to longevity. I have one that has been running for 5+ years with only
an occasional reboot required if it freezes (couple of times per year)
The sound quality isn't great but you indicated that wasn't the primary
issue.

Note
If the sound quality isn't good enough you can use a Joggler as a
controller only in conjunction with say a RaspberryPi
