The Receiver (player) can indeed run Spotty, network music and internet radio as the Radio can. Main differences are: You'll need loudspeakers and an Interface like the Controller (2nd part of the Duet), a smartphone app or a PC where you can the LMS remote via browser, as the Receiver itself comes without any output capability.
