I have a full LMS ecosystem - actually more then one - with SB Touch, SB3, Boom, Radio, Jogglers, Libratone Zipp (AirPlay bridge) and about half a dozen Pis but we do also have a couple of Echo Dots. The dots are used to keep a shopping list running and to switch on/off lights - one is linked to some ceiling mounted speakers in my family bathroom which my wife uses to play a bit of Radio but the sound is not up to my standards. I use the en-suite which has (much better quality) wired speakers on zone 2 from my bedroom AVR with an SB Touch. Ive tried the LMS Mediaskill but its not quite there and I prefer controlling from a phone but for basic stuff I suppose the Dots are worth it as a start point.
