Is this plugin function workable with gmail? I've tried the plain
vanilla pop3 address of pop.gmail.com and also specifying the port by
doing pop.gmail.com:995, but neither work.
gmail is a funny one. it may not be within the abailities Net::POP3 module used by the plugin.

Adding the port crashes slimserver, so I don't think that's good, and
bad. that should get fixed. got a record of the crash? event viewer note, perhaps?

Is this plugin going to do what I'm asking of it, or should I
investigate another way round it, as I understand the plugin is not
being developed anymore.

you do? wow, I wasn't aware of that. the author should be slapped, i guess.
