If the source of audio is being transcoded, then if somehow text or (e.g. an error message) or other non audio data (e.g. disk read error resulting in junk data) was sent alongside or instead of the audio data, it would be encoded into a valid audio stream and result in incoherent noise.
This is very very unlikely as it would need large amounts of text to generate a big burst of sound but it is the only non hardware explanation I can think of. IF this is the problem it may also happen with Softsqueeze. What OS are you using ? Are you using any transcoding apps not supplied as part of the Slimserver distrbution ? Have you run a hardware check on your disks to make there are no read errors on any part of the disk ? -- bpa ------------------------------------------------------------------------ bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=35096 _______________________________________________ discuss mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss
