I pretty sure I didn't enter a space or other extraneous character. When I look at that setting now, I see just the single semi-colon. When I initially made the change, the server did clear the current playlist and triggered a full rescan. Is it possible that a genre tag like "Rock;Fave" was not parsed as two different tags by slimserver because "Fave" did not previously exist as a genre? Other than that possibility, I'm at a loss to explain why it didn't work. > I see two alternative solutions: > > 1. > The Playlist Manager plugin: > http://www.hergest.demon.co.uk/Music/slim/PlaylistManPlugin.htm > This plugin makes it possible to hold a key down on the currently > playing song in the "Now Playing" menu, and you will get to choose from > a number of playlists you like to put the track in. > > 2. > The TrackStat plugin together with Dynamic Playlist and SQL Playlist > plugins. > The TrackStat plugin makes it possible to rate songs directly in > SlimServer or with SqueezeBox remote. Thanks - those are worth considering if the other approach doesn't pan out, but I'd still much prefer a solution that doesn't involve running all of the songs through slimserver.
