Yes, it is one of your "defacto standards". iTunes uses it, and iTunes has more users than WinAmp, therefore Winamp should add support for it. It means "yes, I know this is not what I am supposed to do, but I am the human and I am not making a mistake, this is really what I want". -f is very useful.
