I'm surprised by this, mainly as I assumed that if the compilation tag was not completed then the default setting waould be COMPILATION=0. Anyway, it doesn't sound as if this is ideal either, as in Album view, albums would be listed by AlbumArtist, and I'd prefer them listed by the Artist.
