I have Victoria set for my KatiePlayer voice and my VoiceOver voice.
If I'm feeling really crazy, I'll set her as my system voice. That
being said, it's easier if you have VoiceOver's voice and
KatiePlayer's voice be set differently from each other; I just have
to switch KatiePlayer to somehting I can stand. Victoria is so nice
for VoiceOver that I hate to switch that to something else. Bruce is
set for my system voice, so I think I will try KatiePlayer usng Agnes
and see how that works. It's easier then to tell what's going on
where when you have a lot of stuff running.

Scott,
That works great for me. I bypass with VO-keys + TAB so I can open
Sleep panel with Control + Option + S. Navigation and speech works
for me in the Sleep panel (TAB and SHIFT-TAB to get around). You
know though, I wonder if it matters that I have both katieplayer
and VO set to use the Vicki voice. I'll have to test to find out.
Also, for troubleshooting purposes, if you haven't already, you may
want to quit and relaunch katieplayer before trying again.
I have some coding to do for a bit but will come back to this.

Ah Joe, just hit VO-keys + tab and that acts as a bypass key and
that should get you into the menu. What happens if you do this?
Do you consistantly get the menu to speak?
tnx

Hi Scott,
Interesting, I can't get Sleep pane to come up at all due to key
command conflict with VO...just get a ding. Again, we'll need to
change this key command to avoid the conflict. TAB and SHIFT-TAB
should work OK to navigate through the Sleep pane. To get out of
the Sleep pane you need to TAB to the OK button then press
Return to click the button. Again, replacing this dialog with a
VO navigable dialog (as we are doing now) will mean that your
global, VO speech settings apply and you can use VO navigation
rather than katie's built in speech and dialog navigation. The
Keys Manager dialog is an example of a dialog which has been
replaced for compatibility with VO. With no book loaded, you can
open the Keys Manager dialog by clicking Command + K and try it
out with VoiceOver. Ultimately, katieplayer will not do any self-
voicing and will rely completely on VoiceOver.

Ok I stand corrected, the sleep menu did come up. I needed to
slow the speech down a little to hear the menu choices and then
I couldn't use the tab key to navigate the choices. Also, I
wasn't sure how to get out of the sleep menu to get back to the
book. Any help appreciated.
