My mistake. I only read through some of the site and I think the term
talking interface must have rung a bell in my head because it vaguely sounds
like spoken interface, Macs old name for Voice Over.

God I wish a 3rd party developer would produce a screen reader for the Mac
that was actually good and had updates.

Cheers
will

>From their site:
Proloquo is a groundbreaking multi-purpose and multilingual speech and
communication solution for Mac OS X that provides a full-fledged
Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) for people who cannot
speak, a talking interface for people with visual impairments, speech
feedback in any application while typing, and can read text aloud.

It wouldn't be accurate to call Proloquo a screen reader. The quote
talking interface for people with visual impairments unquote is
limited to Proloquo screens, perhaps only those set up for a student
by a teacher. It is a very nice product for what it does. It also
pairs well with their alternative access (single or multiple switch,
touch screen) software.
