You don't need to "scrool through" all that stuff. Use your link  
chooser menu and look for vlc. Or use the item chooser. Or when you  
find a post on the subject you want by one author go by author and  
all that person's posts will be together. Or download the archives  
for a month and search them on your computer. If you have lynx  
installed, you can even go to the archives for a month and use the  
slash to search for a word you want in the subjects. In other words,  
there are lots of options and frankly, most lists I've ever been on  
expect people to do some searching before they ask a question onlist.  
If you don't like archives, you can still google.
