Thanks for that, I wasn't sure. I'm using an Ibook G4 with Tiger and
VoiceOver without any problems but I wasn't sure about the g3, at
$100.00 it would be worth purchasing for a second machine.

If it has FireWire, it will be able to run Tiger. However, you must
make sure the firmware update has been done.
My sister has a G3 clamshell iBook whidch is running Tiger just fine.
