versionof VisioVoice
The first download link is for Heather and Ryan only in order to offer a
smaller download for people who just want to try these two voices (225
MB) versus the full American English package (635 MB) which contains 7
voices in total (among which two older generation HD voices, two kid
voices, and another high quality female voice called Laura).
After you purchase, you will get an activation code that will activate
all of these voices, irrespective of which ones you install or installed.
You can of course also order the product on CD.
Just for clarity, 99 USD is the price for North America. Elsewhere the
prices is 99 euro excluding VAT. Now, before someone starts complaining
that the euro price is too high because the value of the dollar is so low
these days, please take into account that AssistiveWare and Acapela Group
are based in Europe and face all their costs in Euros. So normally
everyone should be paying a price based on the Euro price. However, with
the current exchange rate this would mean that North American users would
have to pay around 140 USD. In terms of price experience that would feel
much higher for the average North American than the euro price feels for
the average European. So we adjusted the dollar price downward to match
the North American market. Thus with 99 USD / Euro, European users are
not overcharged, American users are undercharged.

I say that because on the site it says Heather and Ryan only. It list
this choice first and then the five voice package. I was figuring if it
was giving you a choice and it says Heather and Ryan only they would be
cheaper. Why did they single these two out?

All the information you're requesting is easily available on the web
site which I link below. You have to buy the voices in language
groups. You cannot purchase them on a per-voice basis. Given the
price reduction, I think this is more acceptable now than it was
previously, and I'm pleased that the voices are within better reach of
consumers. I hope to pick up a couple of languages some time in the
next few months.

What about Ryan and Heather only, are they still ninety nine dollars
as well?
