Well that is a thought. I like Vickie, but she seems to make me type slower. Are the Vvoices better as far as clerity goes and how much are just the voices? How long is the free trial and are their any limitations with Tiger either during or after the trial? Can I use them just like the chosen VO voices?

I was going to mention the same thing. If it is as good as they say then I wouldn't have a reason to purchase additional voices. I was thinking of seeing what were good voice alternatives. I think I will wait about a month after Lepard to get user reviews from sighted and blind users.

If you are American English speaker and like to listen to a male voice then definitely wait with buying additional voices until you have used Leopard with the included Alex voice. But if you are not an American English speaker or like female voices or voices in other languages, you will need third party voices as Apple does not provide high quality female voices, no British voices, American Spanish voices, or Scandinavian voices, etc. This is where Infovox iVox might be useful for you.

That I am saying that the price change is not related to the introduction of Alex does not mean I am suggesting that everyone needs third party voices. If Alex works well for you and you do not have other voice needs then don't buy Infovox iVox voices.
