OK I've tried to copy and paste from various folders to different one's sometimes it works and sometimes not. Is it possible I might have a software problem? if it's of any interest I am using Tiger. don't know if than makes a difference.
thanks to all of you for your invaluable input I now feel that after a week of owning a Mac that I am becoming a bit more confident. I suppose after 2 weeks I might start getting something done.
