Hi, I use irssi or known as "macirssi"
It works adoringly, however I dont know if hot spots would help cause you
have too interact with the text before you can actually see the next message
But i will look at it later and come back with what i might find
/sandi

I have discovered that I cannot use irsix in leopard. It worked fine
under
tiger. as for commands, I think /help should give you a list.

is there a way to see a list of channels on irssex besides typing /join
followed by the channel name? I know some cliants have a way however, I
haven't found one in irssex.

what would you like to have read automatically. If you mean the
incoming
text, I haven't tried but think a hopspot would be superb for this. The
reason of course it speaks the text when you hit return is that it is
only
sending it then. as you input keystrokes, it honors the settings for
character echo in vo.

I got it now. but, I'm having a hard time with it. I know it'll read
what
you type when you hit return, but is there a way to make it read
automatically?

Colloquy is my favorite but there's a bug about the VO
inaccessibility,
and
I'm thinking about working on that but it's easier said than done.
There's
a fair number of clients though, if you want to try them out - xchat
aqua,
irssi, bitchx, conversation, linkinus , snak and ircle are the ones
off
the
top of my head.
cheers,
jane
