also, if you format the drive as a mac drive, windows can rad and write to it. as a matter of interest though, I have systems with ntfs drives on my network and don't hve any trouble writing to them from the mac but I believe this has something to do with the process of transference rather than the fact that the drives are formatted in a certain way.
