Okay, I just went to the timezone tab, in date and time prefs in
system prefs and indeed, that is where you can change your city, by
simply locating the combo box and typing the first few letters of your
city. It may bring up a table then, with several other cities in it
from which you can choose the closest city to you.
Press return / enter on the city you'd like...
In regard to changing the format of the date, you'll need to click
on international in system preferences.
HTH and have a lovely weekend!...
Smiles,
Cara :)

Hi Tiffanitsa, I can't help you with Adium, as I really don't use
it, but as far as the time and date goes, you can access these in
system preferences.
As for cities, I believe you'll need to type the first few letters
of your city in the field after interacting with it, and then it
should bring up the nearest city to you. Perhaps someone can
correct me if I'm wrong?...
And I believe you can also change the date display settings in that
same dialogue in a different tab. I'll check it for you in a bit,
but hopefully that will help you for the moment...
Have an awesome evening!...

Cara :)

Thanks. That was very helpful. However, my time isn't set
correctly.
When I went to fix it, I only saw pst and couldn't select anything
else. All the cities it listed were on the West Coast and I need the
East Cost. How do I fix this? also, how do I change the way it
displays the date (26 January instead of January 26)? Finally, 'm
still having that problem with Adium.

Hi Tiffanitsa, -very pretty name btw...
To check the time or your battery level, press VO M (ctrl option M)
twice. this will get you to the status icons which you can navigate
with left / right arrows. Once you're on an icon you'd like more
info
about, use the up /down arrows and you'll be placed in a menu with
more options / info for you...
Have a great evening and hope this helps!...

Cara :)

I think this will be it for my problems today, because everything
else
is working well. As I mentioned in another post, I'm having a
problem
with Adium. I started it with the program in my downloads
instead of
in applications. I'm not sure if this makes a difference, but feel
that this was wrong. . I told it to copy when it prompted me,
because it may not function properly if I didn't. I wanted to just
get out of there but saw no close button and it wouldn't quit.
When I
tried to use it after this it said contacts has keyboard focus and
table, but when I tried arrowing through my contacts and
interacting
with the table, it didn't work. Not only could I not see my
contacts
but I also found that things like start a new chat were
disabled. I
even deleted the actual program (I guess that's how you to it,
since I
didn't see any equivalent to add/remove programs and there was no
uninstall in the package) and and then redownloading and
reinstalling
and I got the same result. Does anyone know what I did and how I
can
fix this? I really like Adium and want to be able to use it
again. I
found MSN Messanger for Mac to be terrible.
Thanks,
Tiffanitsa
PS. I just saw that the Macbook warns me when the battery is low
and
then tells me when it's on reserve power! I love this! How do I
check the battery level? I have it set to the battery saving
settings
(not the right term, but you know what I mean) and it's
incredible how
long it lasts, even when I'm running things like my wireless
internet,
Skype and downloading all those files. Oh, is there a way to check
the time like I can with Hal or JFW and how to I set the date and
time
so it's ddmmyy? Sorry, but these just came to me.
