No way to turn it on and off on the fly. I wish there was though.

So I take it it's not possible to turn the thing on for one app and
off for others? Sort of like a set file system in window-eyes. I'm
assuming Voiceover doesn't have that yet from this example. What
about turning it on and off on the fly? That may have been covered
already, I'm saving that thread for when my mail is cleaned out.

I use DOM nav now because groups mode does not work well with html

I understand how it works ad in principle, it is fine. I just
find it much slower and more complex than dom nav. perhaps if
more people understood dom nav, they'd use it instead becaust it's
a lot less work.

To each their own, of course, but I totally don't understand.
Grouped web browsing is one of the most enjoyable parts of
VoiceOver for me. Once you get used to it, it is a joy. DOM mode
is slow, frustrating, and inefficient. A friend of mine who
recently made the switch was getting frustrated with DOM mode. He
switched to grouped mode by my suggestion and loves it. You just
need to understand how it works, I think. Some users gravitate
toward DOM mode, because it is more like how they are used to
browsing with Windows screen readers, and don't take the time to
learn grouped mode, which is a real pity, IMO.
