Howdy folks!

Thanks for the info...
As it turns out, we were able to go down to our Mac/Apple store this afternoon and I am now on my MacBook.

The sales person explained all the speks and they matched what Larry and I saw online for the "new" MacBooks.

At first I was having trouble getting VO to work. For example it didn't start up straight away but that could be because we hit a key by error. But it was alright because my oldest helped set it up. Now everything seems to be up and running just fine! And I am starting to get used to the VO way of doing things. I had some trouble with this at first because I couldn't get anything to read... Then it dawned on me... Duh! You go from side to side, using the left and right arrows to read and get around, not the up and down arrows. I wasn't mad or anything but once I sorted it out I felt kinda dumb because I was still stuck in Windows mode... One thing I told myself I would not do. Kind of like I told myself I'd not compare my first guide dog Gerard to Fleming, my current dog when in training. Eventhough I told myself not to compare all the way to GDB, what did I do almost straight away? I compaired! But that, like this getting used to the Mac has and will work out in the end!

So they can upgrade your Mac at the Apple store with RAM, processor and hard drive upgrades when you purchase a new system?

Howdy all,

We are going to the Apple store in KCMO to get my MacBook. We were going to go to our local Best Buy store, but on the advice of several of you on list as well as my really good pet Geek friend, we are going to take the extra
drive to get the Mac right from Apple in person.

Larry had told me that stores, he works at a major discount store, will buy a quanity of one thing and have to sale all of it before they can sale the next offering of that item. For example say they get a shipment of xyz computer and they get 2000 of them. But lets say before they can sale all of xyz computers, xyz xtra awsome edition comes out and has a bunch of upgrades and new things the old and still in stock xyz computer doesn't have. He said they'd HAVE to use up all the old stock before offering the
new...

Is the case with the Apple store? When we go in will we be getting the latest MacBook, or an older one? I guess it wouldn't matter *THAT* much. I know they upgraded the MacBook line the end of Febuary and I'd like to have as new a MacBook as they can give me. I was just wondering though if going to even the Apple store would give you the latest or the day-old- bread stock
of computers...

Thanks
Jenny
