Oh you guys! I love my MacBook! Larry wanted to get me the super
nice MacBook with the bigger HD and DVD burner but we just couldn't
afford it, but he said we could get an exturnal HD and that he'd look
into that today while he was at work.
I've been a JAWS user for about ten years and I have to tell you...
I've not had this little beauty for even a day and I can already do as
much with VoiceOver as I ever could with JAWS.
There are still some things I haven't sorted out how to do yet, but
I've found, once I quit thinking like a Windows user, that learning
the Mac OS and VO comands is coming to me quickly. I absoultly love
it! Seriously guys I don't think I've got a single thing to regret
here. And I'd very much encourage those who may be on the fence about
switching over to the Mac to do so as soon as they possibly can!
I've been asked by a friend of a friend to write a review of the Mac
and VoiceOver as useable by the blind and low vision and I already
know it will get high marks. Some things are slightly frustrating
right now but it is only because I'm still getting used to the system
and I'm sure in time I'll sort everything out. But. Wow I've never
had so much fun using a computer before. I know this sounds like an
overstatement, but trust me, it isn't. It's like... I don't know.
Easy. I keep expectig commands to be all complex but they are really
simple. to get to the doc it is VO D and to get to the menu it is VO
M and things like that!
I'm still stumpped by command key and, this other key that is called
something else in Windows. But the keyboard help is only a keystroke
away so even this is quickly becomming a non issue.
Sorry to gush and go on and on and on. But I'm just so happy with my
lil love of a computer!
