Ben, you wanted to know the page I was trying to reproduce the issue
with?
This would be her account. Once being logge into her journal, your
able to hit friends at the upper top corner of the page.
This takes you to the friends page that she has associated with her
account, allowing her to view all her latest entires concerning those
who she has added to her account.
At the top, oncepassing the info of who is logged in, and the
interests she has associated, there is a pop up button, to display
entires by. Two of the choices include Journal, and Friends.
Once activated, and once clicking on the view buttong, the page will
refresh, showing the desired optiong that she wanted to view.
The crashing is happening when she hits the button, and starts to
navigate the page with her VO Keys. If she returns the view back to
friends, and tries to navigate, Safari will still crash after an
ammount of time.
As I said before, it seems to be minimized.
Though, it seems like, when she tries to look at her email page,
suchas hotmail, Safari will crash after she logs in to the service.
Not sure if this helps any to what the resulting problem could be, or
if I sshould still have her reinstall Safari, checking her flash
version, or resulting in having her use the combo updater again.
Let me know what you guys think.
Take care.

Hey there everyone, good morning/afternoong/evening to you a ll.
I gave the suggestions so far a shot.
Had her check for java, clearing cahce, and to see if Java is
running so far.
I haven't checked yet to see what version of Flash she is running.
The version I am running however is version 9, and I don't
experience any crashes.
I will have her check the flash plugin and see what version that is.
So far, it seems the issue is minimized.
This is good so far. If I can get it even more minimized, that
would work.
I will try looking at her flash plug in next. Then have her
reproduce what she is doing.
If that doesn't work, I will try and have her do the combo pdater.
Think if I have her reinstall Safari, that might work? Perhaps it
could just be Sfari itself, and not the combo updater?
If I have Safari reinstalled, should I just have her remove her
files within the applications folder, remove the files within the
library in both user and system? By library, the only things I can
think of to delete for safari would be the cahce items, should there
be any, the preferences area, should there be any, and deleting
receipts for Sfari, if there should be any.
Let me know what you guys think.
Take care.

I don't have this problem with Safari crashing on the livejournal
site, but I've got a rather annoying problem, that when logged into
my account on the site, I cannot listen to peoples' phone posts,
and it's so annoying. When logged out, I can listen to a phone
post that isn't friends protected with no problem. IT's sooooo
weird. On Dec 28, 2008, at 8:30 AM, Benjamin Hawkes-Lewis wrote:

Anyhow, you mentioned that I should check to see if she has flash

Well, JavaScript, but checking Java is a good idea too actually.
Other then that, I am unsure about checking to see if flash is both
running or enabled.
In Safari, there's an "Installed Plug-ins" item in the Help menu.
It opens a page that lists all the plugins installed.
Look for "Shockwave Flash 10.0 r12". (That's the latest version.).
You can then check whether plugins are enabled or disabled with
the "Enable plug-ins" checkbox in the "Security" tab.
