Well, OOo does at least the first part (the screen position and view data is stored along with the document), but it fails in the second (differently to OOo1.1 where you had the choice). I agree that choice would be better here. >From reading the specification I can't understand why the option was removed. The "Peter&Mary" scenario would be served well with just changing the default to not restore the view data. Peter could get the document opened where he left it, but Mary (with the default setting) would open the documents on the first page always. The same is possible with OOo1.1 but needs some manual action of Mary - where's the pain? So the "problem" of different settings for Calc and the others remains. Unfortunately the specification doesn't explain why Calc should restore the view, but the others shouldn't. But anyway, if anybody wanted different behavior for Writer and Calc the default could be made module dependant. But please be patient: hard working people sometimes fail, so even if it will turn out that this was a bad move, don't be too harsh. ;-) The shortcut is at least a handy workaround. Maybe we could make it a "hidden" option, because a quick look into the code showed that the configuration setting is still not removed from it. > Otherwise, what you get is a *crippled* product. I'll keep that in mind. :-) Best regards, Mathias -- Mathias Bauer - OpenOffice.org Application Framework Project Lead Please reply to the list only, [EMAIL PROTECTED] is a spam sink. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
