For whatever reason the author of the specification thinks that Calc should restore the cell selection by default while the other applications should always start at the first page or slide. Unfortunately he gives no explanation *why* this differentiation is necessary, so for the moment we have to take this as a fact. I don't think that this is possible cross-version. It should be possible for installations of the same version.
