However, there is not much incentive to carry out such an exercise if the perception is that no matter what the outcome things wouldn't change. Its the perception that matters, so we need to make sure that changes are seen to be made as a result of these debates rather than letting them dissipate into the aether. Following up threads with action points would be a start.

Sadly, the fact is that things WON'T change. Ask anyone at the website list ([EMAIL PROTECTED]). I tried to get the front-page image changed many times, all to no avail. I tried make simple changes to the front page. But nothing. I tried to make very MINOR edits to the contribution page (which is supposed to be my project) but nope, nothing. Back in January I tried to improve the usability of the front page. There was lots of discussion, lots of work done. It's something that should have been done in a week. Today, two months later, there's nothing.

Everyone on [EMAIL PROTECTED] were invited to participate to implement the new home page designs. For the last two months, a small group of people have participated, including myself. I take exception to you saying that nothing has happened. It trivialises my and my fellow team members' efforts. Especially Maarten and Christian who have done most of the graphic design and resolving techinical issues with the SourceCast CMS.

As to doing it in a week, some of us have a life outside the hours
freely given to OpenOffice.org.

I'm tired of all the whinging and negativity. It certainly is not
conducive to continuing to contribute here.

Enjoy your Easter and don't eat too many easter eggs.

Regards
Jacqueline
