MS themselves that decided not to support an industry standard file
format.
MS make the industry standard file format. ODF is standard in no
industry anywhere. Let's just keep this important fact in sight,
however irritating it may be.
MS makes a "defacto" standard. It is not recognized as a standard. It
has not been submitted to any standards organization. It is not a
standard. ODF is being submitted to ISO, the same people that do the
ISO9000 standardization.
Heck, MS has a hard time supporting html standards, but that is a
different situation.
How is MS's "defacto standard" going to hold up when Office 12 is
released with their new default "standard" that isn't compatible with
Office XP?
Forgot to add that between a Mac and Windows versions of Office, there
are issues with files. These don't exist with OOo. :)
