I dont run Exchange, I will accept many solutions. But corporations won't
be as flexible as me which is why you shouldn't use 'you' since I am not
the one in question for this topic. Now if we replace 'you' for
corporations then according to your logic they should all stay with
Microsoft.
If you are willing to accept a solution from a variety of
vendors, that integrate together, and provide the same (or
more likely greater) functionality, then there are options
that work.
Beyond the point if OOo or other application will work with the current
infrastructure the result is that there is no other application that will
work with exchange. At least Thunderbird and Evolution work 'partially'
which does rely on the configuration that Exchange has with it.
Where FLOSS marketing fails, is to show that the second
solution is more effective and reliable for the organization
than the first solution is.
