a) I was not referring to multiple vendors, but to using software components from various sources, that are integrated together. b) With FLOSS, if there are conflicts between programs, you can either fix those conflicts, or hire somebody to fix them; c) With non-FLOSS if there are conflicts between programs, you are at the mercy of the company that wrote the software. There is no guarantee that the problem will be fixed.
