Because if I had wanted something else I would have typed
something else.  Don't you think that assuming the user doesn't
know what they're typing is a little insulting?

I find the assumption that I wanted something other than what I
typed to be quite surprising.  If I wanted 01/01/60 why would I
have typed 1-60?
